without the unsustainable time commitment, the "Where do I start?" overwhelm, and missing out on self-care opportunities because of your unpredictable schedule
So, I'll spare you the lecture...
Perhaps in your most courageous moments you've made the commitment to start. You've signed up for a class, joined a gym, or bought some equipment.
Despite your best efforts, you invariably hit the same wall of your demanding schedule and emotionally exhausting workload taking priority over your self-care.... YET AGAIN!
Ultimately, science has proven that we don't do things because we KNOW we should. In reality - what we do or don't do is really driven by how it makes us FEEL.
As a birth worker, you're acutely aware of the power that neurotransmitters such as oxytocin and endorphins have over how we FEEL.
Your breakthrough can happen when you understand how to harness this power and integrate it into your movement and self-care experience.
Your life is already full of sorting through all the options to help people land on an authentic choice. Your brain can only make so many decisions a day. Science has proven that when you have a plan laid out for you, your ability to achieve success is dramatically increased!
Nervous system down-regulation is directly supported through physical movement - yet this is easy to overlook! Creating a sustainable career means that we need to counteract burnout, and that means supporting your emotional and psychological self with smart and practical down-regulation practices.
It’s so easy to switch on the ‘care-taker brain’ and go into a mode where we are so focused on our clients, we forget our very selves. As we practice mindful movement, not only during our exercise times, but also as we serve our clients we can more effectively connect with them. We can’t be present with others until we are present in our own bodies.
Fatigue often feels like weakness, but really, its just a signal that your body needs you to make a tiny shift! When we understand HOW to make these tiny shifts all day long, we create an environment in our bodies that is sustainable and supportive!
This is really why I teach what I teach. When you choose to honor your body with education that is not only focused on your clients, but learning about your body and how you can support yourself and your work - you can actually restore that sense of joy and compassion that brought you to your work in the first place.
I understand! Life is so full! Your schedule is SO unpredictable!
But when we find something that makes us feel SO good and live in our own skin, we somehow figure out a way to integrate it into our lives.
These classes can be done in smaller chunks - even though they’re only 30 minutes each! I also teach you how to integrate what you learn into what you’re ALREADY doing! I’ll show you how you can build strength while you wash the dishes, while you support your clients and even while you’re sitting! Time is not an issue with this holistic approach.
This is normal! Exercise is framed as one huge ‘should’. It’s positioned as something:
and as something
When movement becomes an empowering practice that leaves you feeling nourished and re-energized in all areas of your life.
Movement and exercise are a science (if you want to do them effectively). It's easy to feel unqualified to even know how to move your own body!
I have seen so many people move into strength and function because of a few simple and practical shifts that they are able to implement into their everyday lives!
Shifting into believing that you can understand the basics of movement, alignment, and noticing your own movement patterns, is the beginning of major breakthrough! That's what I love to teach - making this work accessible for all who are willing to learn!
Exercise isn't always fun. Daily life can throw us curveballs. And making lifestyle shifts can easily seem like they will only last a week... at most! So why even try?!
This is where the powerful idea of exercise vs movement comes in to play.
When what we learn on our mat starts to become integrated into our everyday life, when we start seeing the activities we do all day every day as easily being modified into activities that build strength, function and mobility, the mat work becomes a place that is inspired.
With this shift, follow-through becomes less about mustering up will-power or consistency. Science shows that when curiosity is piqued and the body is left feeling refreshed, and you feel connected to yourself - these combined positive experiences culminate into a powerful motivation to keep on with this journey!
You, as a birth workers, have an incredible role to play in society. And you being supported on a personal level through movement, self-care and nervous system down-regulation is vital to our culture's health.
When birth workers are able to be present with themselves in their bodies, they can then be fully present with their clients, making a deeper impact - but also creating a much more sustainable model. That is why I’ve intentionally integrated a course that incorporates movement, but also emotional down-regulation pieces to create a holistic self-care model to provide a practice that leaves you feeling present, strong and joyful.
Hello! I'm Erin,
a functional movement specialist who loves supporting birth workers, as they support their communities! I've spent years training in biomechanics, anatomy and exercise science. I love to wrap all these tools up into practical and life-changing trainings.
I'm a busy homeschooling/working mama who has found a movement practice that has not only healed my own chronic pain and dysfunction, that also works for my busy life leaving me feeling strong and embodied. I now love teaching these tools to my students!
The Thriving Birth Worker Movement Method
is the ONLY program of its kind that…
So if you’re ready to finally move with function and strength while avoiding burnout and frustration....
The Foundations Module sets you up to understand: The HOW behind functional movement. This module gets super practical in the application and understanding of your basic anatomy, alignment and movement patterns so that you can start implementing these shifts into your everyday life, building strength as you go!
Module Highlights:
Back Strength Module: Back pain! One of the biggest complaints among birth workers! The spine is central to every way that we move - so when we can understand how to move with strength and support through the spine it impacts the rest of the body!
Module Highlights:
Core Strength Module: This module goes way beyond the outdated ideas of building strength through crunches and sit-ups! This is a whole body approach to truly understanding how to optimally engage the core and to know what your movement choices are as you rely on your core in everyday life.
I've applied all my specialized training in core and pelvic floor rehabilitation to make this a truly holistic approach to core strength.
Module Highlights:
Upper Body Strength Module: This module is all about breaking down the basics. This area can seem really complex (and to be honest it is), but these basics are a solid foundation to moving with strength through the upper body. No need of heavy weights, with a few boundaries, you'll find a yoga block and your own body weight are all you need to build some serious strength!
Module Highlights:
Ground Movement Module: You never know what position your body will be required to be in to support your clients! And that includes moving up and down as well as on the ground! This module focuses on how to incrementally build the flexibility and strength required to do these basic but challenging movements. You'll grow in your confidence, balance, flexibility and strength in all the little parts that are required for this full range of motion movement!
Module Highlights:
Nervous System Down-Regulation Module: This might be the most important module. We go straight at the idea that the physical health and strength is separate from your mental and emotional well-being. Utilizing recent scientific understanding of the nervous system, we use movement and somatic practices to down-regulate your entire nervous system and body. Birth work can be emotionally challenging, draining and traumatic at times. These tools are vital to have in your self-support toolbox to have a long and healthy career.

Thriving Birth Worker Movement Method is a holistic approach to physical self-care through movement.

I totally understand where this question is coming from! Who has time to add an extra something to their already filled schedule?
Here’s the simple answer: about 90-100 minutes a week, round up and call it an even 2 hours a week.
Here’s the hard truth, change requires effort. You’re interested in this course because something in your body requires attention, from pain and soreness to simply wanting to feel stronger and more stable, and these things don’t happen overnight.
I really want to support you in having an amazing experience in your own body, and movement is a powerful tool, but consistency is also key to seeing those results.
But here’s the good news, I also show you how to incorporate this work into what you’re already doing in life, making these changes sustainable!
Nope. This course is designed to be super-accessible, building from where you’re starting now. I’ve coached amazing great-grandma’s to seasoned athletes and love helping you find your boundaries and build strength from there.
I’d recommend being able to get up and down off of the ground comfortably, and being able to be on hands and knees for a minute or two, the rest will be built up during the course!
Also, another "no." You will want a comfortable place to exercise, so you can use a yoga mat, but you can also just exercise on your carpet! I recommend using a half foam roller, a yoga block or two, a yoga strap, and a blanket. I also show you creative ways you can substitute any of these pieces with things you already have around your house. I find that it’s easier to simply have a few simple tools, but it’s entirely possible to get a bit creative and substitute as needed.
This is an OPTIONAL benefit that you can take advantage of!
Taking the course for 11 CE via MEAC is an option where in order to receive the accreditation you will be required to take a short test at the end of every module - basically showing that you’ve done the work. We have tried to make the process simple and easy.
If you have no interest or need for these credits, just skip the MEAC quizzes and move on to the next module when it releases or you’re ready.
Yes! I have focused quite a bit of my studying on understanding how to support core and pelvic floor injuries. I have created this course with that education in mind. While this course is not designed to deep dive into the core and pelvic floor, this course will provide a holistic approach to supporting the whole body, including your core and pelvic floor!
Lifetime access. Which means you can take your time moving through the course, and also, you can come back to and utilize these classes and informational videos any time! It also means that you will automatically have access to any future updates to the course!
Yep! I don’t want you to foot the bill unless Thriving Birth Worker Movement Method really is the missing link between you and moving into strength and function.
That’s why I’m giving you 14 DAYS to put the plan into action before making a final commitment. If you do the work (details here) and decide this course is not right for you, just let us know and we will refund your investment.
In most cases the answer is "Yes!" Although it does require some free or low-cost third party apps. You can check out our guide on device streaming here. We'll also include the link in your first email when you sign up!
